Jubilee Event: Noye’s Fludde – Benjamin Britten

Cathedral

Thursday 13th July 2017, 7.00pm - 9.00pm

Benjamin Britten’s opera Noye’s Fludde (Noah’s Flood) was written for community performance in 1958, and has been a popular work for children and amateurs ever since.

In this special Jubilee performance, Noye will be sung by Stuart M O’Hara, Mrs Noye will be sung by renowned local mezzo-soprano Stephanie Guidera, and the professional orchestral corps are drawn from the best players in the north west. All other solos, the chorus, and orchestral parts will be played by children and young people. As well as the choristers of the Cathedral Choir and pupils of St Edward’s College, over 20 schools from around the Archdiocese are taking part, forming a chorus of nearly 800.

This project promises to be a lot of fun for all involved (audience included) and is a rare opportunity to see a fully-staged opera in our magnificent Cathedral.

Tickets £7.50, available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/lpoolmetmusic or the Cathedral Shop
